He's just in from patrol, a lively night with one D-lister safely put away for the time being. The action may be over but he's still preoccupied. He has to go through some cooling down stretches, shower, and get something to eat before sleep; first, however, he'll do a perimeter check. Something tells him he's not alone tonight. It is Tim, and now that Dick has finished with his patrol, he's allowed some of that subtlety to relax away. He's sure that Dick noticed him, he's still not good enough to get past that, and in this case it serves his purposes anyway. He wants to talk, not just spy on Dick.

And that's why, when he sees that Dick is checking his perimeter, he decides to save him a little trouble and drop down to tap on the window. One of these days he might even use the door, just as a surprise.

The smile for Tim is automatic despite his thoughts, and he opens the window to let him in.

"Come in. Want anything to eat?" Dick is hungry, in a distracted way where he's tempted to ignore it in favor of other things, but he does know better, and Tim, in his opinion, is always in need of the proverbial sammich. It... may be sad that the family must use each other as excuses/reasons to eat, but they're always so busy and they want to take care of each other, so. "I have spaghetti, with sauce Alfred sent me."

"Thanks." Tim hops in and steps enough inside that it should be safe enough to take off his mask, so he does.

And... maybe it is a little sad that they use each other as excuses to eat, enough that Tim was half-expecting to be offered some kind of food, but making sure each other eat is really part of what families do. "Well, it'll be at least half good, then." He quirks a smile at Dick. "Sure, I'm a little hungry."

And the blinds go down, so anybody outside will need x-ray vision in order to see them.

"Ha. Funny guy. I bet you have them lining up outside the comedy clubs back in Gotham." He heats the sauce on the stove, getting out plates and forks. It's no longer surreal to him to be partially in uniform while getting food ready; his mask is off as well as his gloves, both lying on the kitchen counter.
