Quick post before the grandparents descend
1)
pennyplainknits made a podfic for me, as part of the #informaltwitterpodficexchange(there are lots of gems there - check it out)! It is Pete/Brendon, Just a taste of what you paid for by fictionalaspect. I LOVE this fic, so I am beyond happy. Everyone should listen to it, even if the pairing isn't your thing. Penny reads this fic SO well! It's no secret that she loves Pete, and I always think that love comes through, so I always get a bit of an extra kick out of her podfics when she reads Pete. bb!brendon gives me all the feelings, and Pete is just so perfect. I wish there was more of this pairing. I also now really want a sequel really badly.
2)I am SO weak to rare/unusual pairings! (see above) So I podficed Congruence for
greedy_dancer for #informaltwitterpodficexchange.
cybel made cover art and turned it into a podbook!!
There should be a podbookers appreciation day. This is SO brilliant.
3) A few recs:
- the times, they are a-changing, or: a modern marriage of convenience Brendon/Spencer - 'Dallon has a suggestion: Brendon and Spencer are both single at Christmas, so they should hook up with each other'. I loved this SO much! I am just going to cut and paste the comment I left:
'Absolutely brilliant! Hot, funny and also utterly adorable. The dialogue was dynamic and I loved their banter. I thought the ending was lovely and simple, it was an unexpected and fantastic moment. Love, love, love!!!'
-The Holiday by sunsetmog- it's a lovely and cute Brednon and Spencer try to spend their Christmas holiday in Wales fic - it's a wip but I trust sunsetmog.
-catholic frank/artist gerard- It's 20,000 words of not!fic, and every single word is gold! It's about a Frank who is really invested in his faith and is trying to live his life in a way the Church would approve of (gay is ok as long as you practice abstinence), but of course ... Enter Gerard and cue TONS of angst. I am not a person of faith, but the angst and feelings are universal. Also, the talk about food was SO GOOD. As a veggie (or one who drifts into pescatarianism when sushi is involved) I found it so comforting and happy making. I LOVED all the secondary characters, Gabe, Mikey, Frank's mum!
I plan to make a 'My Year in Podfic' review, but I have WAY too much to say right now.
