Blimey...

What the bloody hell is this all about?

Couldn't have touched a portkey, I was just out walking!  And no one was around, this can't be some spell...

...I'd better not have gone mad or something.  Locked up in St. Mungo's with Lockheart...

Harry had better be here, the only reason I had gone out for a walk in the first place was so I could try ( Read more... )

Oh, hush. At least I'm trying to do some good, to find some way for all of us to return to our own world and away from this place.

Yes, I'm serious; the Marauders are here. But no, not all of them; Peter isn't here. Yet, anyhow.

Well, Malfoy also lives in the Opera House...

So... so Harry's dad, he's here? And Sirius and Lupin? How old are they? Bloody hell... This place is insane!

...

You're living with Malfoy?

They're all slightly younger than you two... there were in the middle of their fifth year when they arrived in the City.

And I'm not living with Malfoy, we just happen to reside in the same building.

Wow...What are they like, then? Have you met them?

Same difference! How can you stand it? What do you do when you two SEE each other? I doubt he just leaves you alone!

I've met them, yes, as well as Harry's mother. Lily is really a sweet girl, and she's responsible enough to reprimand the Marauders for their unruly ways. Lupin's remarkably similar to when we knew him, although he seems more meek and timid, while Sirius is much more light-hearted and mischievous. As for James... I haven't spoken much with him yet, although he insists that I refer to him by his first name, and not Mr. Potter.

James and Lily are still grappling with the idea that Harry's their son...

And we do what normal people do when they see each other, Ron--we talk, converse, however you want to put it. He's actually been rather civil, and we don't see each other that often anyhow.

Well, that's good then, at least Harry's choice in roommates makes sense...

You two talk to each other? What happens in the future that could make Malfoy CIVIL, anyway? Got his memory mucked about with or something?

People's behaviour can change, Ronald. You shouldn't judge him purely by his past actions; he's honestly been rather nice company over the last few weeks, when I was essentially alone and had no one else to turn to.

Malfoy hasn't changed ONCE since we've met him, I'd like to know WHY I should expect him to just 'cause he's in some stupid City.

Rather nice company? Are you sure it's him? MERLIN, HE'S PROBABLY GOT YOU UNDER SOME SPELL.

Perhaps because Voldemort isn't here?

Yes, I'm sure that it's him, and no, he hasn't cast any sort of spell on me, I'm sure of it. Why is that so hard to believe?

What does You-Know-Who have to do with this? Malfoy's ALWAYS been a prat.

Because he's hated you, hated US, since the very beginning! He likes being a stupid git, he's evil, Hermione!

Because Malfoy-- oh, forget it, you wouldn't believe me even if I told you.

He's not evil, Ron, nor is he stupid. And besides, you're being just as judgmental as he ever was!

What? Go on, try me!

No I'm not! I've got a very good reason to think all this about him! Maybe YOU can forget five, SIX in your case, years of him being a foul little monster skulking around, WORKING FOR UMBRIDGE, trying to get Buckbeak killed and Hagrid fired and EVERYTHING ELSE, but I can't!

FORGET I SAID ANYTHING.

Indeed, Draco's done many terrible things over the years, but that doesn't mean that he's evil, nor does it rule out the possibility of him maturing. Just because someone used to act a particular way doesn't mean that they are incapable of change.

FINE.

Sure. I bet he turned into a right little angel in our sixth year. What WAS I thinking?

Whatever, Hermione, have fun living with your wanna-be Death Eater. I'm going to find some place to live, don't bother coming to get me.

Six Five years of knowing each other, and you still can't even trust me. If I knew you were going to act like this, I wouldn't have offered in the first place.

And to think that I even missed you. What on earth was I thinking?

Take care, Ronald.
