Due to Real Life, today's chapter of DUST isn't ready to post yet. We're working on that. It may go up late tonight, or possibly tomorrow.

In the meantime, much, much love to my betas for all their incredible work and dedication--in sickness and in health, you guys rock.

While I'm thinking about it:

I think you should adjust the one you already have to say something similar to what MW said. :P

I like both summaries, but I think it depends on the impression you want to give the reader. MW's is more straightforward and yours is more...nebulous? (hard to find the right words at 2 am). I'm biased towards your original summary though because that last sentence is what grabbed my attention. You throw in the word apocalypse so the reader knows there's a big evil, but the ellipses, the power of ellipses! To me, it hints that there's more going on internally, with these characters.

Or maybe I just spent waay too much time analyzing a sentence. Note to self: no more LJ commenting past midnight.

*reads and blushes*

I can't describe how flattered I am. I love your summary - a lot. I wrote more detailed one because I post my recs (besides my LJ) on different forums where there is a lot of lurkers and casual fans. I know that a Spuffy fan would immediately jump at the opportunity to read a s4 story where Spike asks for Buffy's help. But I try to gauge my reaction at a story where, say, Faith asks for Buffy's help, and I feel very vague interest. But if I'd read the whole detective premise and understood that the story has an exciting plot, I'd most likely started to read. So, I usually try to follow the rules of making a movie trailer - to reveal the most interesting details of the first act.
