Had Pirates come out when I was an adolescent you can bet that would have been one of them. Sadly, I'm a bit too old for that, and I was well into college when Cap'n Jack first swaggered on screen.

That didn't stop me from emulating him, however. I just did it in a more grown up way, savvy? ;)

yeah... not so much the Canadian orphan part, but I really did want to be like Anne. Of course, I also wanted to be the Artful Dodger and Prince Kheldar and possibly Ursula the Sea Witch.

Try reconciling all of THOSE character traits.

Now I'm curious how exactly you emulated Anne as an adolescent. Did you dye your hair red? Wear puffy sleeved dresses? Write overwrought romantic tragedies? And now I'm picturing you doing all those things while also picking pockets...

:D me too.

I kinda wanted to be him, for a while. Then I read the Mallorean and since Velvet is pretty much the female version of him, and she looked kind of like me, I decided I'd much rather be her and marry him :)

But I adore Silk. He's probably one of the five characters from my childhood that most informed who I would grow up to be.
