I'm a big ale drinker and ale festival go-er so of course I've tried Well's banana bread beer. I liken it to alcoholic banana nesquik really. eugh.
Yorkshire pudding crisps would be the best.
PS. I meant to say I tried those haggis crisps from your post or yore when I spotted them in Lidl. I don't know what haggis tastes like and being a vegetarian a I suppose I never will, but the crisps were nice!
They were, weren't they? I'd eat them again! (I'd also eat Yorkshire Pudding crisps.)
Alcoholic banana nesquik sounds like something 16 year old girls would throw together at a slumber party out of available ingredients while their parents are out of town. NOT THAT I EVER DID THAT.
Beer and Chips....

hmmmm. I think I could appreciate both the banana beer and the roast beef chips, although I am not particularly a beer drinker I am a chip eater! I hope you didn't try these two treats together cause I'm not sure they are compatible! Great job!

Any other strange UK brews I should look out for?

Once when I was a teen we tried to make Irish coffee, but had no whiskey, only port. Do not put port in coffee, that's what I learned that day.

I've tried chocolate ale before, but couldn't really taste the chocolate. So disappointing. Perhaps the coffee breaks through the bitter?
I don't think it would ever occur to me to put port in coffee, but thanks for the tip (in case I get curious)! :D
