I took the train with a laptop this morning, and still felt that the time was being utterly wasted away. Especially the forty five minutes stood in the freezing cold waiting for a train which was manifestly stationary fourteen minutes from the train station and was actually not likely to turn up in fourteen minutes time. When I caught the next scheduled train the service sign was still cheerfully anticipating the imminent arrival of the dead-duck train. Then it was too crowded in the train to get out the laptop. Bah.

Rough news about your dad, though. Fingers crossed for non-sand-headness.

Like like quite a weekend of extremes; good and bad. A positive attitude is probably one of the best medicines your dad could have, regardless of test results. I hope it turns out well for you and your family.
