Last week i strained my back, and pat recommended that I heat, then stretch it. Do you have any recommendations or an exercise that I could do that may help it?

The best exercise for that involves lying on your back and putting your legs up... I could help you with that.
Seriously, though, one gentle way to stretch your back is to lay down on your back and pull your knees up to your chest and hug them. Then just kind of roll forwards and back. Then drop your knees slightly to the left and to the right. (Be careful, I don't know anything about your injury.) Also, just stand and bend over. at the waist, I mean. Bend over and try to touch your toes for a while, then just let your arms hang and swing them to the left and right.

I just write down what I did each trip to the visit. I tend to fall into just doing two or three exercises a lot, so I review some to try to remember what I should be doing. Also, I'll write down what I PLAN on doing each day for the next few days. I'm not really well versed on the science of Magic Notebooks, so I don't know if this is how they're supposed to be used. I'll have to consult a certified weight-lifting wizard the first chance I get.
