So, the problem when you start drinking mimosas at 11am on Christmas morning and then continue to drink all day means that you have a hangover by 6pm. You would think I would learn this after several years. Also that i probably shouldn't be mixing champagne cocktails and IPAs. But all of my drinks were lovely and je ne regrette rien. Oooh I like your ideas! It makes perfect sense to me that Elua & his Companions (except Cassiel) would all have holidays associated w/ them. Headcanon accepted!

TdA seems like a very pagan-friendly place and it seems logical to me that the Companions probably have feast days and special holidays sacred to them. that's actually world-building i wish Carey had shown us more of- the orders and the worship of the companions.

Oh, this was wonderful, I am so glad I asked you about this! I quite agree with your thoughts on how probably every one of the Companions has a holiday associated with them, and probably a pagan one. I think Eisheth would share Imbolc with Naamah and Anael, as the holiday of renewal, healing and start of spring. Camael would have Samhain along with Kushiel, as winter comes on the land and hardness is needed. Elua would definitely take Midsummer, possibly with Azza. Cassiel would have no one day - his worship requires a life of servitude, not merely one day! And Midwinter, the Longest Night, would remain fully pagan, with the only religious touch being how the adherents of each Companion celebrate.

Melisande is certainly the winter. "Eyes of Twilight, hair of Midnight", and possibly skin of snow, no? I see Imriel as an evolution, from fall to spring to summer (Dorelei) to fall and winter, to spring and finally summer again with Sidonie. I, of course, am like the pride of my House, firmly in the winter.
