30 Days of TV Meme
We don't watch much television in our house, so this could be a bit of a challenge. Sounded like it could be fun, though, so here goes...
Day 01 - A show that should never have been canceled
There are so many shows that died an early death, and almost all of them aired on Fox. Greg the Bunny, Futurama and Firefly immediately leap to mind. Although they all deserved a longer run and better treatment from the network, they are not the show that should never have been canceled. That dubious award goes to another Fox offering: Brisco County, Jr..
I originally started to watch the show because it featured Bruce Campbell in the lead role. I quickly fell in love with the characters and the predicaments they found themselves in each week. It was a good natured show that could appeal to a broad audience which is obviously why it was canceled after one season.
The worst part about it: The writers and actors didn't know they were canceled until after the season finale was in the can. Typical, Fox. Perhaps if they had advance notice they could have written a series finale instead of having our heroes ride off into the sunset, off to their next adventure.
I'd petition to bring the show back, but Bruce Campbell said it was one of the most physically demanding projects he has ever been involved with. Somehow I doubt he could be convinced to resurrect the character or the show.
