the enormous oak tree that decimated our neighbors' power lines came down. This half fell on OUR property - and made a right mess back there, too. Really that does make sense both in terms of the position of the shoulder and the repetitive motion you were doing. At least you now know and the surgery will clear it up.

As soon as it twinged, it made perfect sense. It's nice to know how it happened - both because I'm tired of people asking "how did you do it?" and not having an answer, and because I also don't have to worry about repeating the problem in the future. Those were fairly unique circumstances.

The only risk is to other trees, a grove of mountain laurels, and anyone who walks under it. That's the wildest area of our property.
I want it down for safety reasons, but I don't think there's a rush. I'll have Ben come drop it, and we'll burn it in recompense.

I have a bit of a thing about iffy trees these days.
Though the insurance money got us a better car than the one that got squished.
