Then in the second episode, they kept saying they were going to the West Coast Jousting Championships being held with the festival. Okay, tournament means to me you are competing with jousters outside your troupe. I think that's what it means to most of the viewing audience. I didn't finish the episode but the review I linked to said: But there’s a bigger issue that goes unaddressed: Despite its grand name, the only competitors in the West Coast Jousting Championships seem to be Charlie and his team.
That's not a tourney; that's a troupe hired to perform at the faire ( ... )

I know Nikki and Jeremy (if you read the captions); on the picture of 4 fighters labelled "The foot fighters at
the Grand Hastilude, Canada", Nikki is the short woman, and Jeremy is the center man.
Jeremy and Nikki both work from actual medieval fighting manuals; Jeremy has essentially a dojo for teaching medieval swordfighting. They both compete all over the world. Nikki was just in New Zealand.
I was really disappointed that the show was about that jerkoff rather than a historically-oriented organization. It seems to me they just went for cheap audience thrills rather than history.
