saturday we headed for the south coast on the eastern cape. there we hiked along the beach for what seemed like a good mile or so. then we travelled up the river. if you've seen the movie "blood diamond", this movie was shot in the area in which we were hiking (even though the movie is supposed to take place in sierra leone). it was gorgeous. i ( Read more... )

ahem! i actually did apply sun-block lotion (spf 50)TWICE! i just can't handle this hot southern africa sun!!

Did I ever tell you that I used to think the beach boys lyrics "If everybody had an ocean... then everybody would be surfing, surfing usa" was "If everybody had a notion..." etc.
