I love that you depict Conrad in a less than perfect light, it gives him and the drabble so much depth. And the comparison with Alford, who is damaged in his own way yet still has that idealism clinging to him is wonderful and unique. Love it!

Thanks for commenting. My sense of Conrad has that perfection as a persona he can put on or take off, depending on the circumstances.
