So it had come to this.
Many comrades had fallen before this opponent. Gwendal had been the first to go, barely lasting a few minutes on the battlefield. Then, Conrart had fallen, narrowly avoiding defeat until the very end. Wolfram had been the last, making his fiance swear to avenge him.
He was the last one left. The only obstacle between this creature and its goal. He would not fail.
This was the final battle. The boss battle. The battle that would determine victory or defeat. If he lost, it was all over. But, if he won, then maybe, just maybe, he could win this war.
It would be a hard fight. The odds were stacked against him. The enemy had every resource at its disposal. He had but one weapon left in his arsenal. He could only hope it was enough to win.
With a war cry, he played his final card.
"Aha!" Yuuri crowed triumphantly. "A King! Let's see you beat that!"
Greta bit her lip and flipped her card. She laughed jubilantly. "It's an Ace! I win Effe's last cookie! Yay!"
Yuuri deflated, his expression going from "victory" to "pout" in an instant. Wolfram was only slightly more composed, plastering a pained smile on his face. "Good job, Greta! You're very good at this game!"
The princess beamed at her fathers. "Maybe if I can't be like Anissina, I can be a war strategist like Ken-chan!" With that happy thought, she skipped towards the kitchens to claim her prize.
Wolfram waited until their daughter was well out of earshot before turning on his fiance. "Yuuri..." he growled.
The king backed away and held his hands up in surrender. "I'm sorry! I really though I could get it!"
"That was the last cookie!"
Yuuri cowered before the enraged blonde. "I know, I know! I didn't expect her to be so lucky!"
"You WIMP!"
"Don't call me that!"

Completely and totally random, no? That's me! Of course, I can be serious when I really, really need to, but that's...not a lot.
This keyboard is hard to type on T_T. When I was trying to say "the enraged blonde", I almost typed "the engaged blonde". Admittedly, he is that too, but...gah...

P.S. Just throwing this out there. Does anyone know which episode I can find Wolfram in the pose in my pic? Because I saw this icon (don't know who made it), and I was utterly dismayed at the lack of an "OBJECTION!" joke. So I really want to try and make it on my own, except I don't know where I can find the picture...Appreciate any help I can get!
