There was a tug on her skirt, and she looked down into the teary eyes of the young prince.
‘Gwendal won’t play with me,’ he wailed.
‘What was he doing when you spoke to him?’
‘He wasn’t studying, or practising with his sword,’ Conrart replied earnestly. ‘He was only knitting.’
With a sigh, Anissina turned away from her latest potion. Such injustice couldn’t be ignored. She’d just have to persuade Gwendal into it, even if he did hate the boy’s father. Perhaps she’d threaten to stop his knitting lessons…
‘Come,’ she smiled, ‘let’s see if I can’t change his mind.’
