‘He peeled her tunic away and-’
She looked up at the muffled sound. Lady Ulrike had clapped her hands to her mouth, eyes wide.
‘Lady Anissina, should you continue?’ The priestess squirmed uncomfortably. ‘Priestesses of the Temple should not-’
‘I won’t tell if you won’t,’ she interrupted, smiling. His Eminence had told her only yesterday about Ulrike’s desire to ‘experience love’, and while she may not be able to ensure that, the least she could do was read out her latest romance to the woman.
Ulrike smiled shyly, and she grinned as she picked up her book again.
