*tries to stifle laughter*

Ahem, so I have finished my tentative fake cover for the ickle 'shipfic. I believe it's thematically appropriate but I suppose only the tiny handful of people who read it would actually know. I am including a poll for the rest of you.

As a long time sniffer of crack reader of romance novels, I give this a most excellent "Yes please" with a heaping helping of "sporfle."

Ah, the ways to twist canon into suiting oneself. Let's face it, Tasha deserved herself a studly Romulan after all that tar pit crap. I call bullshit on the four-year old's eye witness testimony. Besides, then I wouldn't have had an excuse to mutate five men into one man.

Those were actual feedback comments I've received, which is to say, it's actually a serious, dramatic story with a complex plot. In many ways, the cover is to disarm readers and trick them into putting aside certain fandom assumptions regarding the known scenario so they approach it in the same manner I did. (Not that this will encourage anyone to read a story about Tasha that doesn't involve insipid 'shipping with Data).

Anyway, the summary:

It seems like a great idea at first, at least from his perspective, until everyone from the Tal Shiar, Starfleet Intelligence, the praetorate, and political rivals such as Cmdr. Charvanek find ways to get involved. One thing's for certain, nothing is what it seems to be in Ki ( ... )
