Oh, isn't that cute? Catwoman has reached (NSFW) faux lesbian porn desperation. I wonder if folks try to spin this cover as "tasteful pinup" rather than "omg please buy our crappy book!" I think it helps if you look up the definition of "delusion". In this case, the persistent incorrect belief is: sexy covers sell books. The only reason the battery victim cover (#51) had a boost was because it was featured in TV Guide. This cover is just funny in a pathetically bad - if well rendered - way. If sexy covers sell books, sales wouldn't be hovering at 19k and books with hideous covers wouldn't sell 60k+.

It makes me very sad what Catwoman has become. It's gone from being the best comic on the market to . . . well, as you say, "omg please buy our crappy book".

I just wish the book's demise wasn't drawn out so long. I don't understand why editorial insists on the "separate from batverse" stance, when allowing this title to have been part of the various crossovers and general events would have helped boost sales. It's like they remembered what they promised Brubaker and are belatedly enforcing the crossover-free isolation, in the hands of a phone-in hack. I guess if they cancel the book, he'll lose his job. *g*
