Something Gross

It's deer season, and something that really grosses me out is dead roadkill. Its' one thing to see the dead deer on the side of the road, which is sad, but its another to see the blood smears in the middle of the road. One in particular was killed Monday night, just hours before I drove by. My guess is that it was hit by 2-3 cars, based on the

Same thing happened to me Friday night. Kira was hitting the town with some friends, and I was at home playing video games. I left to bring her some shoes, and came home. Later, I left again to pick her up, and there were deer chunks all over the highway at the turn-off for St George. They hadn't been there before, so it was damned fresh. The biggest piece, and the only identifiable piece, was a section of upper leg and shoulder/hip (couldn't tell if it was front or back leg).

And that damned scent of wet rusty iron.
