I wasn't going to say anything about this because I'm a little too worked up to present a solid or eloquent opinion. And I don't usually get into stuff like this in my journal. However, this just keeps swimming around in my head and I'm not going to get any work done today if I don't get it off my chest.

I was absolutely appalled by the level of venom that they received for Natalie's comment, and continue to be appalled by the fact that it's still such an issue three years later. My family is really into country music, and reads the magazine Country Weekly faithfully, and seeing coverage of events like radio stations organizing bulldozings of Dixie Chicks CDs and calling them traitors to their country just made my blood boil.

I was stunned that this was a big deal three years ago and I'm even more shocked that it's still an issue. I am glad the vote came out in favor of the station playing the song, even if they only play it that once.
