.. Well. See. When Princess Yue was born, she was really sick. But the moon spirit, in the form of the fish, gave her strength. A while ago, Zhao killed the fish, which threw off the spiritual balance, so Yue gave her strength back to the moon spirit and sacrificed herself for the balance.

So uhm, she's sorta the fish.
