Ikkyu has that innocently smug expression on, the one where he’s genuinely trying to be helpful, but comes out as a total ass regardless.

That bit seems very much like Ikkyu, and I love it. The premise is amusing - I guess they're lucky Monta didn't manage to kiss something behind him, given how deeply his aim sucks. This is some delicious rivalslash. I like how the one-upmanship gives Ikkyu room to find self-confidence despite his lack of experience in the romance department.

To be utterly frank, a small part of my brain broke when I read the pairing and I couldn't click the link fast enough! :D

Lessons in kissing as told through mom's soap operas = awesome.

I found this much more believable because you made them older and with the same rival dynamic. However the funny antagonism came through clearly so it made it downright cute when they finally kiss.

"sausage fest" - The funniest way I've seen the Shinryuji Nagas being described. Your characterization was spot on in the parts where you had dialouge and facial expression. Monta backed up against a wall by Ikkyu was so domineering that I really liked it. :D

My only confusion came from "breathing out hot hair"...did you mean 'air' or did I read that wrong?

At any rate I really liked this and most of all I was so glad when I saw the pairing. Your Monta/other pairings are slowly making me want to read more fanfic involving him.
