1. Taking the whole image (before cutting any bases) correct the highlight/midtone/shadow (ctrl+M) (shadow: -7; midtone: 31; highlight: 7; relative adujustment method)
2. If it's necessary, and the image is still dark as hell, use the fade correction at 1 amount of correctness
3. alter the hue and saturation once or twice (depending on the image) (saturation: 15; hue: 0; lightness: 0)
4. Unsharp the image (Radius: 2.00; strength: 2; clipping: 1)
5. Cut your images down and save them as a nice .png file, you may have to unsharpen them once more after the re-size, or even repeat some of the above steps on the actual re-sized image again. Again this is all depedning on the image you're using.
