I'm a Dork

So like everyone else out there, I really really like Blue October's 'Hate Me'. But why do I like it so much? Why, because I can hear all three of my main characters talking to each other in it, of course!

*cringe* I really, really dislike them. They are so...I don't know, the same as everyone else. They are that horrible kind of emo that verges on country except the singer prefers to yell than to twang. Not even in the good emo category with JEW or Weezer.

I got free tickets to see them last year (my "date" with Chris from fencing right after the Davis tourney...so I guess that was year before last 0_o) and I went for the opening band and then we left one song into Blue October's set.

And because I know you love little tidbits about lyrics: He wrote that for his mom ;-I

*laughs* That bad, huh? I find them emo in the good way, myself. That, and the songs that I've heard from them are a pretty even balance of happy and uplifting and depressing, -and- I fin the lyrics actually intelligent and interesting. You did only hear one song, to be fair.

Yah I know. Poor guy. Reminds me of my brother and my mom whenever I hear it.

Actually, I've heard a good many of their songs because the local radio seems to like them a lot. I put up with it the first few times and now I just change stations for the requisite four minutes. I just find them whiny and annoying.

To be fair, I also can't stand Foo Fighters most of the time. That horrible song that sounds like the disk is skipping! Ugh!

Sadness! I think they're quirky.

I only know, like, that one song from the Foo Fighters. The one I can't remember the name of.
