And when it rains we stay inside at lunchtime. So I get sat on and poked and tickled. And today teased about having metabolic syndrome. Too bad I'm not fast enough at Japanese to tell them 'no, it's just fat' yet. Discovered that my comfort level does not extend to small (surprise) hands in my armpits. Adding yet to that statement as well. But ( Read more... )

No, Canadian and American ones always gave me a little warning. These ones give you nothing. I love my kids, too. They're so cute.

Have I mentioned that you have WAY more patience than I do? I would have javelin'd the children who bounced on me, tickled me or commented about anything to do with me. Like seriously picked up one child and used it to toss at another child javelin style.

You have so much patience...

On that note, pita bread is awesome and mosquitoes suck.

That mental image totally kept me going today XD You could invent a new sport! I think I'm acclimatizing more than anything though. It must be a throwback instinct to young adults being left in charge of the creche while the other adults are out hunting or something.

Indeed!

metabolic syndrome eh, OK, how do you say anorexic in Japanese for the way they look? Or you could tell them you're trying to start a sumo club at the Jr. High. And remember, when you're feeling annoyed, somebody's trying to control you - get em :3

Naw, they're sensitive about being too skinny, too. I hurt one boy's feelings once. Actually I wasn't annoyed, I've been somehow developing this lovely emotional cushion and tolerance for small children. It's more of an 'I know you're really trying to express that you like me so I will tolerate this' with the proper overtones of 'go to far and I'll tickle you back'. And the metabolic syndrome thing is just so ridiculous that I have to laugh. I mean, of course it couldn't be my own fault that I'm fat. Who would let that happen? *rolls eyes*
