this earthly vessel

So, I succumbed. On Tuesday of last week I was walloped by the flu. I had one *awful* night and a few days of achy exhaustion. I felt much better this weekend, but I somehow strained my lower back yesterday, so I'm nursing that a bit now. Generally, I'm just feeling like my body is not cooperating and that has me a bit low, but I think it is all ( Read more... )

Oh my gosh, your doll-ized family is SO CUTE. (Heh, too bad they aren't resin, I like to pun with "resincarnated" . . . ah, well.)

I'm not usually a Big Head Dolls person, but I change my mind whenever I see ones that you've customized. You are amazing -- and, omg, I had no idea that Mat had a "K" over his heart, that is incredibly sweet!

*love and hugs and gallons of tea to help you feel 100% better!*

Thank you! It had been so long since I customized a Pullip, it was actually a lot of fun. I really do like the big heads -- mostly because 1/6 is such a fun scale.

It is sweet! I love it. I designed it and I have an M drawn up for me but have never settled on a spot, since my heart is covered in pigeon and I'd like it a bit more secret. It might go under boobs to the middle of my sternum.

Thank you! I need gallons!

"My heart is covered in pigeon" -- hee!

Sternum tattoos are really cool (although they must be a bitch to heal -- I'd imagine that it would require going braless for about two weeks, and probably wearing thin tank tops that can be doubled over to avoid skin rubbing on skin.)

I've seen them look great on people of various body types, and they work well as a "secret" spot that only gets exposed if you feel like sharing :)

Thank you! It was fun spending so much time with our tattoos. I have to calm down now and not buy all of the tiny things I think they need RIGHT NOW. (iPhones! Shoes! Cardigans!)

Romantic tattoos are literally the best.

No measles or ebola! Modern science for the win! The boys have been awesome about letting me rest. I'm going nuts feeling sub par.

Thanks! I used acrylic eyes for them, eye chips have come a long way and realistic colors are easily available now, but when I first customized them 8(!) years ago, the only real option was to change out their eyes for acrylic. I did the same for Isul. The eye mechs still work, though I kept Isul's lids out because I thought they pushed his eyes back too far.

I suppose I should have said that I prefer the way long hair is left in clumps and tends to be heavily shed with the seasons as opposed to the everywhere all the time way short hair gets on everything. Combing is definitely important! I do think Sadie is groomed regularly, I think maybe we just got her in between times. It has also been very wet and messy out, that definitely doesn't help. I just really hate short pokey hair, I guess. I've always chosen pets with dark hair, too!

Thanks so much. I'm definitely on the upswing and it is good.
