I love this Hermione of yours (of course I love Draco, too - but then he's like a cat - I love them no matter how nasty they behave - not that he does in this fic). Something that's been bothering me for quite some time is that you hardly ever get a female in fanfiction that is halfway as insecure about her own body/ her own attractiveness as most RL women are. That may make sense for someone like Fleur or Ginny - but with Hermione, it is even canon that she's somewhat insecure in that respect. Still, in fanfic, she usually is ready to believe anyone who tells her he's attracted to her. So kudos to you for addressing this aspect with all the typical "reasons why he can't really mean what he's saying at all" in this fic - and in such an enjoyable way, too!

Lovely chapter! I love how Hermione and Draco are very different from story to story, but still feel perfectly plausible based on the source material. I'm really curious as to where this headed with Draco's illness. I have my suspicions and am dying to know if I got it right. Can't wait for the next one.
