I somehow missed your one line dubbing him Centralia with the holiday catch-up times, so when first encountered the name later via the "Hoodie" associations I figured it was some channel you had access to where you got all your leather-wearing needs catered to. Alas, as the week's gone on it's turned out not and I had to try and find out if you explained the name anywhere, but if it's a reference to something, I'm missing it.
Why Centralia? Centre, Australia, sCent RA liar, what, where, how?
May have to quote "It's like someone set him on fire years ago and he's still smouldering" somewhere else though if the topic ever comes up. And thank you more in person for the Yuletide recs as well, although as if I'd have had the time to look into any (even the very rare Shadow thing), especially if for the time being prioritizing manly (dwarfly?) dwarves and Dalek hybrids over most things else again.
Have some rerun tongue action (from the comments) in any case again. Let me know how long that keeps you busy, too. ;)
Centralia is actually a town in the United States that's been on fire for decades. Because when someone references underground coal fires, that's the first one I think of, although there are five or six around the world. So, smouldering --> coal seam dwarf --> Centralia, PA. It's probably a very specific American geeky reference, because most of the places it comes up is in horror movies from the States.
But its' TRUE. He smoulders. Very, very well. Stupid Armitage, ruining lives all over the internet.
I'm glad you've also caught onto the unfairness of the Tolkien dorkness or his sex scenes elsewhere as well. After all, it'd be unfair on everyone else to keep such things from them and not to spread the unfair.
Ok on reference. I only know about a Siberian fire. The one with that "It's always a good idea to light a fire onto strange gases to get rid of them. Since they'll burn out in no time and all, after all" logic.
Found an online video of what looks like the full scene with audio. That is profoundly unfair and people should not be that sexy while having sex with their socks on. That's supposed to be undignified, not arousing.
I didn't know about that one in Siberia! I'll have to look that one up, that sounds like insane troll logic to me. There's also one in Australia apparently that's been burning for thousands of years. And moving. Slowly.
