Okay, seriously, what is UP with the old lady population at work bringing the drama? Because seriously? Throwing a hissy fit at someone who *didn't even say anything rude today* and then crying about it? Really not cool.

And now, it's a pretty strong hint that four of us are going to be dragged into HR, and only one of those four is even culpable. ( Read more... )

Basically, a woman (who none of us work with directly or indirectly - she's admin assist to one of the bigshots) has decided over the last few months that we're her bestest friends in the whole wide world!! at lunch, and sits with us, KNOWING the group she's joining has a wicked and dirty sense of humor. She knows this, and alternates between being amused and offended by it. As far as I can tell, her own life is dull enough that seeking out gossip (in a group that only talks about outside-of-work things) is enough of a hobby. Yesterday, one of the four (not me) decided to be a bit blunt about this whole thing. Crazy Old Lady (COL) did this "I'm not mad! Ha-ha, it was silly!" thing. Today, one of the other girls just teased her - even as we were pulling up another chair so she could sit with us - and she went storming off, yelling at the wrong person that they 'owed her an apology!'. So now, we're just waiting for some COL drama to come from upper management that's blown WAY out of proportion. ("They're all horrible! Even the ones ( ... )

Yeah, I'm tempted to pre-emptively go to my manager and explain everything before COL decides to be batshit about everything to management (who are in all-day meetings today).

On the other hand, if I DO go to my manager, and nothing comes of it... I dunno. I wasn't the one who apparently offended her, I just laughed at the joke along with the rest of the lunchroom crowd (more than us four)(and when COL comes in grinning and wants to sit with us, then changes her mood 180 degrees in the blink of an eye... Oy.)

So. I feel obligated to go shopping online for a Llama to name Drama and make a space for it at the table from now on.

It's possible she's got something else going in her life right now that's making her crazy. Alternatively, she doesn't sound like a person who's very confident in herself, so it's possible she just plain can't take it.

We'll find out for certain after the autopsy.

*snrk* I think it's outside drama, but that's no reason to give US hell, y'know?

(And if HR does get involved, I'm not going to hold back my commentary on this - if you play the game, don't whine because you didn't get the ball passed to you every time, y'know? Childish twunt, that one...)

What you mean when things are going poorly in my life I can't take it out on others? What have I been doing with my life?
