Hamburg: a summary

Hamburg is a lovely city. I mean, on the outside it's German Liverpool (which is actually not a bad place at all!), but on the inside it's another incredibly interesting city. I see your point (and agree with it!) about the concentration camps and the various genocides: I'd just like the point out that Neuengamme was not an extermination camp. It exterminated a lot of people, but only a small proportion of them were directly killed. Most of the prisoners seemed to be political prisoners who were members of resistance groups, and as you know I'm interested in the resistance that took place in various countries. They died from malnourishment, over-work and disease. Not that they deserved such a fate any more than victims of genocide did, of course ( ... )
