Yes, Glee was on TV last night, or on the 11th of January, whenever I actually get round to posting this. And to be honest? I loved it. Not unreservedly, of course - and anyway I've only seen the first two episodes, which seems to be the way E4 are handling this - but it was more entertaining than 90% of the stuff on the box these days. Bright.

As for the show as a whole, I think you've landed on a good way to watch it. Like most Ryan Murphy shows (Popular, Nip/Tuck) you really can't take them seriously; the events are only there to give the characters something to do, and often don't make any actual sense as a narrative. It's kind of like a long crack fic but with music.

I have to confess that I watch most TV shows while at the computer. This afternoon, for example, I edited a document about desert warfare in WWII while watching Star Trek TNG... pausing, of course, to watch the fight scenes which are always hilariously over-acted.
