Not exactly straightforward, though it could have been worse. At least I had company for some of the way.

There were no trains between Derby and Crewe so I had to pay a small excess and go via B'ham instead. Got home about 5.30.

Can you claim back the excess? It seems unreasonable that you have to pay extra for their lack of service.

I got in a bit later than 5.30 but I like driving so it didn't seem too bad. I stick on the radio and mooch along happily. *g*

It was brilliant! Every single one of the panels had something to teach and every one of the presenters showed such a love of his/her subject that it was inspiring. I'm so up for the next one. I might even have a new car by then. *g*

I've been re-thinking the new car thing. My baby might have to be pensioned off eventually, but it is so cute and comfortable and easy to drive. It got us there and back in fine style. Yay!
