He'd been up late and had no idea why he was awake at such an early hour, especially when his first (and only) class for the day wasn't until fourth period. Oddly enough, the first thing Alphonse did was grab at the first book his hands found and promptly began to read it. Why he had this sudden desire to read was beyond him, and it was why he was up so unreasonably late; it was only a period of two hours that he was able to start and finish five entire novels.
When he remembered this, Alphonse made a face at the words of his new book. Okay, no, it shouldn't be possible to do that. But he did, which was what baffled him.
About ten minutes later, he finished that book, too. An entire five-hundred or so paged one.
And then aimed to grab yet another book. He probably would've went for doing something else more productive, like flopping back over for more sleep or twidling this thumbs, except... Book. Must read. At freakishly fast speeds. No matter what method he tried, Alphonse was incapable of tearing himself away from the novel he began after finishing the one he just finished-- Oh, hey, new record of eight minutes!
