I managed to muster up the courage to turn down the production assistant position. I was worried and nervous this morning, thinking maybe I'm doing the wrong thing, maybe I should just suck it up and take the job; and then, I drove by the Writer's Guild protesters. All of them gave up their jobs for serious issues and are now marching up and down ( Read more... )

Here's the one I used, I have annotated in italics! :)

Tomato-Basil Quiche!
Ingredients:

2 medium or 1 large tomato, sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 cups shredded sharp white Cheddar (or you may use Gruyere)I used Mozzerella
1-2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell see below!
1 small onion, thinly sliced green onions go better! it's already rich enough
Leaves from 3 small stems fresh basil, torn if large chop a bunch of basil, 3 is hardly any. I also mixed it up with some chopped spinach
4 eggs
1 2/3 cups light cream or fat free half and half, however low fat you want to be
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper don't measure pepper! ^_^1. Preheat oven to 425F. Place tomatoes on a paper towel to absorb excess moisture ( ... )

That is a level of conviction that I have not seen in a long time. Good for you ^_^

Ha, Murakami, I remember seeing the art a long while back, one of the art teachers from San Jac gave me a an article about the work. But its the Chiho in your link there that caught my eye. They had a couple in the MFAs Red Hot exhibit. That was surreal watching City Glow in the plasma screens like that. And the sculptures and prints later on in the show. It was a really good show and I have picture of giant plastic red trex sitting outside the museum.

Mmm, cookie ^_^

I love city glow! I wish they would put it on a DVD already. It was part of the "Ecstacy" exhibit here at the MOCA. Everything was about drugs and the experience of being on hallucenogens, so it fit. I have yet to see any of her prints in person, but one of these days...

There were the couple of prints and if I remember correctly one fiberglass statue. Her style translated perfectly into the third dimension. And of course City Glow was one of the prints. I would like one of her prints for my walls myself
