The whole 'say goodbye' caught my eye, as well, but I'll just pay attention and see if there's an explanation here.

And I know the feeling you're describing, that *ping*. Haven't had to go take care of anything for a while, luckily, but I know what you're describing. Unfortunately, the *ping* is horrible at follow up, so afterwards you never get a letter or something telling you how it all turned out.
