See now I'm a sap so I really love *happy happy* endings... but this... this wasn't quite *happy happy* more like *painful happy* but ya know that's okay cause it was really a fantastic... *fantastic* sorta *painful happy* that left me with a little lump in my throat going 'yeah that is exactly how it could go' because I could picture it all really, really clearly in my head.

Oh, me too! I'm all about the *happy happy* fic that makes me all giggly and goofy when I'm done reading it. I just seem to have a hard time writing it. I've started several fics that were just supposed to be kinda goofy and romantic, and they were like "Let's just insert SUDDEN ANGST HERE" every time I turned my back =P
So, I finally gave in and wrote this, which is pretty much just John angsting for an age and a half. Because maybe now my brain will cooperate and let me write something with an ending that doesn't involve tears ;)

I'm really glad that you did enjoy this though =D I vow to actually do something uplifting and sweet some point!

Amusingly, this was also my first reaction to having written this ;) I am so terrible about finishing fic, which is why I refuse to post WiPs. On the upside, I seem to be gradually getting over my fear of posting fic. Rock on.
