i had to do a similar thing, except i was parked at the theatre...not only did they mistake my car as being blue (when it is quite obviously green AND says so on the rego sticker) they couldn't even produce their witness in court and thus the case was dropped.

check with your neighbours also - if they also got stung then the parking attendant needs training in recognising the parking permit system or else it is blatent revenue raising...
