I just re-read Smoke and Shadows by Tanya Huff (it's a follow-up series to her Blood books and is just really awesome!) and am working my way through the other books in the series, and ahahaha. /o\

Brian didn't want to be a wizard in the first place, but now he has to make sure Gerard and Frank and everyone else doesn't die. Or find out that not only are vampires real, but so are demons, werewolves, ghosts, wizards, and other things he really doesn't want to know about!

And! He still has to manage his band, but it's a little difficult when they're all, "LET'S GO FIGHT EVIL, BRIAN! WE NEED TO SAVE LIVES!" Ò_Ó

I can totally see Brian casting some sort of spell, like fireworks or something else really shiny, to distract the band while he runs off to solve the latest supernatural criss.

I can also see Frank or Mikey inadvertently adopting a werewolf puppy or a hellhound puppy and making really, really sad puppies eyes of their own at Brian when he says, "No. No way, guys. You can't keep him! He might... He might have rabies!"

Mikey just gives him the stink eye. "Seriously, Brian. We already took Eeyore to the vet for all his shots. No rabies."

"Dude, his name is Maximus!" <- Frank

"Eeyore!"

Then Brian facepalms and goes to look up how to raise a hellhound to not be vicious and/or prone to eating people.

Gerard totally has costumes made up! With the little black eye masks even! Ray, surprisingly, is the only one actually competent enough to fight things without dying. Bob would be up there with Ray, but he tends to get burned, even when that weird water-creature-thing tried to eat the instruments.

*dies* He'd have to, wouldn't he.

It'd have to be like a hellhound or something else if we're using Huff's universe - the werewolves are normal-ish people so they wouldn't appreciate Mikey and Frank adopting one of theirs. (

...Unless is was kidfic, or they didn't know until Brian told them, which would be like totally hilarious too. They keep getting chased by these crazy people with big dogs and don't know why! The werewolves think they're trying to steal on of their kids for some nefarious purpose! The kid's kind of having the time of his life, except for the flea baths, but whatever!

Brian finds out why they're being chased by the crazy people with dogs and wants to cry because his guys are complete idiots! When everything's sorted out Mikey and Frank write letters to the kid addressed to Eeyore Maximus Eeyore. His parents are confused because that isn't even the kid's name, but he seems thrilled anyway, so they don't say anything. Brian just facepalms when he finds out about it.
