It's hard to focus today, so I am wasting time with the help of the internet.
This has to be from that AU where they work at the zoo or some animal preserve and is totally the reason people call Steve Smooth Dog. Seriously, right. Who wouldn't fall for a line like that?
Danny sends this one to Steve when he has to go back to the mainland or whatever to do...something. Probably testify on a case or whatever.
...Well, that, or it's the improbable romantic comedy AU in which Danny is like. A lobster fisherperson (I don't know, don't judge) who happens to meet Steve who is on vacation or as just moved to the tiny seaside lobster fisherperson town because he's like. A writer or photographer or something and Danny has his own lobster fisherperson boat and Kono and Chin are part of his crew and and there is the usual adorable romance thing going on between them. Danny sends this to Steve when he and his crew are out fishing for lobsters and Steve is hard at work with his photography or writing. Catherine is Steve's agent or boss who he sometimes sleeps with because she is awesome and uncomplicated and there is some misunderstanding about that and she is all, "Oh, you two are really just so adorably stupid, aren't you?" and pats them on the head before she goes to check out Kono's...assets and they are left staring at one another all, "What just happened?" And then it ends all happily ever after with. Lobsters. Bonus points for Kono making jokes about Steve being Danny's lobster, which confuses Steve to no end, until Kono invites Steve to a girl's night in to watch Friends with Catherine, Rachel, Grace, and Jenna and he is like, oh. (Also, he totally gets a makeover.)
This is totally Steve right after he meets lobster fisherperson Danny and they aren't at the stage where they're dating, but are rapidly approaching and he is all starry-eyed because Danny is amazing and hot and Steve fails at at everything ever.
And this is Steve watching Danny sleep at creepy o'clock in the morning, or like. Looking at Danny who fell asleep on the couch while watching the game or some crappy movie and there's drool and Steve is just all ♥_♥ and totally gone on the guy it's kind of sad because he never thought he'd find love with a lobster fisherperson, and now he has and doesn't know what to do about it because good things like this, like Danny, don't happen to him.
Danny leaves this message on Steve's voice mail when Steve fails to call him after his realization that he is in love and oh, God, he's going to mess everything up somehow so maybe he should leave Danny before Danny leaves him and it is all very emotional and stupid and Steve is totally not being a moron.
The voice mail message Danny leaves a few days later when he remembers that Steve is a giant failboat and is willing to give him another chance because he isn't totally hopeless. Eventually things get sorted and Steve admits he's a giant failboat and Danny is like, "I know, it's okay. I'm pretty good with boats of all kinds," and then there is like. Kissing and whatnot and probably lobsters. *hands*
