(no subject)
I have a bit of a confession to make.
When I first saw this video by 3 Doors Down, I was convinced it was a sequel, of sorts, to a song/video they'd done a few years ago. You know, the one that's kind of awesome in a Sixth Sense kind of way? And then I realized, hey, wait, 3 Doors Down didn't actually write that song. Nickelback did.
(Also! I only vaguely remembered the details of the Nickelback video at the time the two videos meshed together in my brain, but, um. Yes.)
Now that I've seen both of them again I'm picturing a fannish AU (really, it could work with so many fandoms, so many) in which there is an Agency or somesuch that offers people ~opportunities to save their loved ones/prevent the accident/whatever from happening in the first place - or prevent another accident/whatever from happening to their loved one in the future, you know, whilst they are grieving and not thinking straight/whatever. (Oh! And this so-called Agency could approach either the living, not-quite-dead-possibly-in-a-coma-having-an-out-of-body-experience-kind-of-thing, or dead-dead half of the couple in question!) And then, you know. Crazy, wacky shenanigans and people thinking they are possibly crazy because they swear they see/hear/sense their loved one's presence around them/who knows what.
It's possible I am not explaining this well, but ohmygod, I need fic of this, like, right now, in pretty much any fandom ever, I'm not picky! (Although, hey, I wouldn't mind seeing something in the flavor of bandom or SGA! :D?)
...Also/or, the fic could be about the Agency itself! As in peoples from a certain fandom work for the Agency and they get to go to all these bereaved/confused people from all these universes/realities/fandoms with offers they can't/won't refuse, and then have to ~guide their person until they accomplish their mission! And they bitch to one another about how unbelievably stupid their person is, and, oh, god, they wish they'd never taken the stupid job and stop laughing, you bastard! In the case of certain fandoms they're all, "Goddamn it, if these idiots keep dying to save one another we might as well get them jobs here to save on the paperwork!" and other such gems, because there are noble sacrifices flying all over the damn place and do they think it's like racking up frequent flier miles or something? Christ.
And also, also, when they get repeat offenders/clients, the person they approach can be all, "What the hell kept you?", or, "Hey, is there something different about you? There is, isn't there." which gets them a blank look, but the offender/client persists, all, "New haircut?", and so forth while the offender's/client's friends and loved ones are all worriedworriedworried that they aren't processing the death of their loved one properly, what with them dying all the time anyway and oh, god, this is totally getting out of hand. /o\
