Part 1/3 The Good - The Bad - The Ugly and The Beautiful

I decided to write a concert report. I've done that for myself for every TT Concert I attended except the Beautiful World Concert 2007. It's been 4 years since my last concert, which was said concert from the Beautiful World Tour 2007 in Cologne.

Now it is the 22nd of July 2011.... )

Hey!
Thanks for an awesome concert report - enjoyed reading as I also saw them in Hamburg on friday, although in the floor area :-)
I just loved "The Flood" ... absolutely my favourite part as it marked the 5er reunion, is a beautiful song and was combined with breathtaking show elements. Those vertical artists / Spiderman people just took my breath away ... Mark seeing the balloons the fans were holding up and telling Rob about it while Rob was trying to sing ;-) and Rob jumping down. Awesome.

Just one little thing - was it really "Apache" Rob rapped during "Kidz". I thought it was "Rudebox" and was a bit irritated that he put that there in the middle of a TT song (same goes for "No regrets"). Just wondering.

I read somewhere that he usually did Rudebox as the rap, but I never listened to that song - so I'm not sure what the lines are. I'm very sure though that I heard Apache and the suck my dummy line - mabye they changed that bit? What did you hear? As you can see from the pics - I was very far away and couldn't really see details, like expressions. And most of the time I didn't even see who was standing where especially on the main stage. ;_; Yes, I could've done without No regrets, but they probably had their reasons for putting that there.

The Flood was awesome and amazing as well, you're right. I had a hard time describing The Flood in the report. But for us there it was just amazing. Where exactly did you stand?

I had to check that.

Here is a link to "Apache 1993": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QALVTVIx77s

A link to "Rudebox": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBYlYmicwSk

And "Kidz" in Hamburg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZE_pxSTiso&feature=related

I now am quite positive that Rob indeed did a part of "Rudebox" and merged that into the "Clap your hands" rap from "Apache". Don't know how he managed that... genius!!!

Yes, I realized this in Düsseldorf and after listening to Rudebox for the first time. I didn't even know Robbie made a rap song! It is really cool. And that epic dance battle between Jay and Howard. I could watch that again, again, again...forever and I wouldn't get bored.

Thank you for writing the report.
I'm tempted to link to your post *gggggggggg*

As for my pictures... of the 51 pictures I took, 16 turned out to be useful -.-;;
But one of those is my new desktop picture ^^;

I'm SO happy for you that you can enjoy the concert on Monday (again)

I just couldn't resist. If I had not written it yesterday I would've forgotten everything by now. And I had to look at the official setlist because I didn't know the order of the songs and I even forgot if they did Happy Now or not. I can send you all of my pictures if you want? Most of them are actually quite good, but too far away for details.

I can't believe I'm watching it again tomorrow. Kyaaah. Do you remember if it was Apache or Rudebox during Kidz?

And finally I got to read it ^^;; I had this tab open for hours and hours but I have about two million tabs open and this one sort of went under the radar for some time *looks sheepish*. The PM reminded me again.

But it sounds wonderful, a really great concert! Good thing you didn't let that stupid RW-fangirl ruin it (although I love, love, love Let Me Entertain You. It has always been my favourite RW song).

I have to admit though that my favourite TT songs are Relight My Fire and Could It Be Magic. I'm so predictable ;)

Edited due to too many redundancies and spelling mistakes *lol*

Hey, I wrote that whole thing just for you and you only read it now?

j/k ;)

The crowd really went wild during Let me entertain you, you would've loved it. Anyway, I just have to LOL at your favourite TT songs because these two aren't even original TT songs in the first place. I just find that funny for some reason, that your favourites are covers. *easilyamused*

Ooops...

Yeah, I know they are covers but they are great covers! I think they are much better than the originals (although Relight My Fire, if it's sung with Lulu is technically not really a cover but rather a... hm... evolutionary development for the song?). I also love Never Forget but it was sort of sad to watch the video after they broke up :(. Yeah, all in all I'm probably just not much of a ballad-person.

It is a cover. The original singer is not Lulu, but a woman called Loleatta Holloway. The song was written by Dan Hartman. Take That performed Relight my Fire with that Loleatta Holloway on the Circus Tour. You can watch that here, if you're really interested:
