Shaved

I cut a few people from my friend's list; most won't notice but if I dropped you and you feel particularly butt-hurt about it, let me know. It's not my intention to hurt anyone's feelings, and butt-hurt is a funny inside joke of something Peter always says that strikes me really funny ( Read more... )

A went last year for her first time to Bristol. I had to work so I missed out on most of her experience but I want to investigate the day care there for this coming season. What kind of work did you do at your faire? I'm getting the faire bug and putting together some new skirts for my costume. Any suggestions for affordable bodices?

I remember when you worked faire last year. As far as the bodice goes, I don't have any way around buying a good one and keeping it forever. The one I have now I got two seasons ago and cost about $90, my previous one having been stolen. I might try to make skirts and stuff but not a bodice, I'm a very novice sew-er. I tried to get a vest to do the job of a bodice but it doesn't have the same look that really pulls the whole costume together.

When I worked faire I worked at gaming booths that paid me in Newcastle! But all passes were provided and that was all I needed. A friend told me on the weekend that her guild has a child care program where they can drop them off. I'm guessing that she has to spend some time working in there. When is your faire season?

I picked up a vest this winter that I am hoping to wear as an alternative to the bodice that was given to me last year (the last owner was much more busty than I and it bends at the edges). I have 9 glorius weekends of faire starting in mid july through labor day weekend. I have heard of guild child care and yes you need to be a member and do a work exchange. I heard about a child care that was for the families that travel with the faire and that is the one I want to get cozy with.

here is a picture of the vest http://lanebryant.charmingshoppes.com/Shopping/product.aspx?product_id=L9700002&nav=L9
