My ongoing concern for the head of the Roman Catholic church

Feb 25, 2005 10:36

The bloke from the Vatican was saying on the radio this morning "...of course, if His Holiness becomes very ill...". What do you mean, "very ill"?!? The man's practically dead. I know they're all into some weird KGB-style cover-up denial thing but it's getting a bit silly now really.

I have an Ian Dury craving but am at work. Bah.

As opposed to when Arafat was dying and people kept saying he was dead before he actually was, which led to all sorts of dramas and accusations of poisonings and a cover-up and so on?

Hello! Yeah, it's kind of the other way round, they're pretending he's just a bit under the weather when he's blatantly at death's door. But then, I love a good conspiracy theory :)

"It's not dead. It's just resting."

(Though I've yet to hear of any religious leader being described as having "beautiful plumage".)

oh god, yes, I wish Popes could resign. It's painful to watch, and I'm not even a believer.
