Well, the Autobots and the Decepticons were fighting each other for millions of years prior to them showing up on Earth and they could never score a decisive victory. I think this just shows why.

If I remember correctly, in this episode, there was some cause for these weird failures/behavior and it was affecting the Autobots, too. Granted, my memory of this is from almost 25 years ago, so take it with a serious dose of salt. O.o
