Something snapped within me this week, and it is something that through the limitations of twitter and conversation I have been trying to articulate. I wish that there was a way in this world where people could truly follow their hearts and desires. If you could just study history and languages, though, would that make you happy? Education is now your chosen future. Don't forget that. You've made a decision, and you seemed to be fond of the decision. It's a noble profession, and one that will hopefully see a resurgence within the next few years. You could always turn to politics, using your political know how to fight for education on a macro level. You have options. I think part of both of our problems lie in that we are poor and that we lack the ability to really think big and (to use a phrase I tend to hate) to "think outside the box." The poor thing is part of this moment in history. We are now a nation of poor and wealthy. Take comfort in that you are not alone.

PS Monks don't get to have sex or jerk off, do they?
