I may have shouted "HELL. YES." while reading that... WHILE I was reading it from between my fingers 'cause oh GOD my weakness for depraved, broken, shattered, drugged up but STILL THERE Castiel is so SO showing. *hangs head*
I haven't actually found one that'd make me cry like a bitch yet. I have found many that prolong the 'Oh, Cas. :'(' effect of the episode but none that really make me sob like a girl.
Tbh, to get that effect someone'd have to embellish the tale of Future!Castiel's broken foot. Add a comedown from a cocktail of painkillers and a meth & cocaine hit, smash just about every bone in Castiel's foot and ankle, throw in a few dislocations and breaks elsewhere and give him a slow bleeding knife wound in the side so he's pale, perspiring, fully conscious, in absolute agony and preferably being stitched up/reset without anaesthetic on a cabin table. That wouldn't make me cry though, the bit that'd make me cry would be Dean swearing that he's never taking Castiel out on a raid again. Citing that Castiel's an incompetent drugged-out liability when it's really because Dean can't deal with patching him up again and again and again. *grabs box of tissues*
But then... I do cry at stories a lot. Last night I watched the last 20 minutes of Monsters Inc for the first time since it came out... I was sobbing. *is a big girl*
