100 DOWN: Those French girls

May 13, 2007 00:35

I just finished the New York Times crossword that Bill Clinton wrote the clues for.

The puzzle is here.

The man is a wordplay-holic, apparently.

From that page: "Editor's Note: The clues in this puzzle are a little more playful and involve more wordplay than in a typical crossword. You have been warned. -- WILL SHORTZ"Awesome ( Read more... )

i hate politics, parody, wordplay, wasting time

You spent some time on this. It's pretty darn good.

And here I was thinking the answer to every one would be god.

We already know what that crossword looks like.

Certainly has my support. It was a cute little quick diversion, and well put together. (Yours, not Clinton's. clinton's is irritatingly difficult. I guess that may to some minds make it good. Even mine, when I'm in the right mood)

Though on that note: I do love cryptics. It's better when it's clearer that ALL clues are cryptic, though...

One of these days, I'm going to get around to making a cryptic crossword. Until then, I'll have to settle for making parodic crosswords.

The ACLU clue was a toughie. I want to see Bush take a swing at a political group in pun form. Also, dang, floe? I learned a new word.
