Top 50 FF Characters
I've learned a few things making this list... That there are actually more than 50 Final Fantasy Characters (should've guessed that). Also that a lot of them have rather silly names, since having to roll them around my tongue for a while felt weirder than it normally does. Also, each character tends to have their own motif colour which is nice. They're also stupidly japanese... I didn't realise this for a while but now I have... And finally. I love Final Fantasy characters way too much.

The Treasure Hunter with a heart of gold. How corny of me... But no really, he's a nice guy with a fantastic fashion sense.

Like everyone in FFXII he had a weird way of dressing but aside from that, he's awesome and an honourable knight.

Renzokuken was actually amazing! Plus I rather liked the awkward dancing at the beginning.

For such a young age she's a badass Queen, and tends not to let her emotions run her head which is actually one of her downfalls but it's refreshing because you don't get to see that a lot... Plus the mini-skirt and full 360 camera gave guys more reasons to just take in their surroundings.

A black mage Summoner, the day was rued but Rydia rose to the occasion and made some awesome happen. Gosh don't you just love the green too?

Another woman who hasn't got the man she wants. Ain't it sad :( But Freya is a beast in battle when she's trained right and she's got a sarcastic sense of humour so lots of love for her

Can you get a prettier lead please? She's got scuffs on her kneecaps, obvious mascaras and skins with PORES. PORES! If they did anything right with FFXIII it was this woman, she's just gorgeous! Plus she punches Snow a lot... Which is a very very good thing.

She teaches Vivi about life, helps Dagger find her past and even falls for the protagonist. She's so cute and loveable and made me dinner so I like lots.

For all her obvious flaws I still think she's rather sweet and I know she's a pain to train but she's in the A-Team for me with her GodHand and seriously, without her I'd not have beaten half the beasties I have. She's a one woman killing machine ^_^ For me at least.

Another fanboy favourite. It's actually become so popular to like him that it's become uncool to like him in the more intense circles of FF-Fans but no one can deny two things: he is actually a good lead and OMNISLASH.

Red actually wins because his relationship with his entire family made me cry lots. When he finds his dad and the tear and OH! It's unbearable :( Plus his grandad is Bugenhagen who just makes me smile :) Also Red is cute when he walks on his hind legs.

Steiner is special and I say this in the nicest way possible because he really really is. He runs around screaming and basically is some comic relief, which is lovely. Plus his Amano drawing makes him look so unbelievably badass I just love him all the more. He obliterates everything when I'm finished with him too, hence. He's A-Team awesome.

Hands down the best thing about Final Fantasy XIII (besides the graphics). How can you not love this guy? He has a chocobo. LIVING IN HIS AFRO! He also cries at the drop of a hat and comes out with the best one liners. Love this guy.

This goes out to all Chocobos actually. I love you ALL! But Choco is the favourite because he sucked my life away playing Chocobo Hot 'n' Cold. So yeah. He wins.

She's all woman but she kills people without a care in the world. Also the moments when you get to play with her (heck even against her) are some of my favourites in gaming :)

I like a man who shows his emotions. Maybe even cries a lot. So I like Tidus. I find that male fans don't like him at all whereas girls just fawn over his emotional attitude. This works for me; also his Calabolg is awesome and so I always try uber hard to get it. He's A-Team awesome.

The third and final "Hands down" character, but he really is hands down best thing about FFXII. COME ON! He's a mix between Han Solo, Indianna Jones, Chris Martin and some other bad ass guys! He's AMAZING! Plus his voice actor (Gideon Emery) is the best they've ever had. I love Balthier like I love sunshine.

The Damsel that the creators have insisted they're never bringing back but remains in everyones hearts. Her death echoing through the hearts of every FF fan. A twinge, a tear, a sudden realisation. Her demise so affecting because she was actually a truly likeable character, no really, there was nothing not to like about Aeris. She wasn't pure, but she was an innocent. Thus making her scene the biggest tear jerker ever. Forever loved is our Aeris :(

She's just so unassuming; you wouldn't believe this girl could save the planet. But she can. And she does it with a surprising amount of dignity and grace (not like in the FFX-2 version... thats right this FFX Yuna and FFX Yuna only, I'm anal like that). She tries so hard, too hard, so hard it's liable (highly incredibly likely... ok positively) going to kill her. But she just wants to make people happy and for some odd reason this makes me love her and want to pat her on the head and tell her to stop being silly. I also train her to such an extent nothing can kill her... you know... just in case...

Ok so he looks like a girl. He's the official Confuser of Final Fantasy. "Am I man? Am I girl? Actually I dont think I mind" which is the perfect response to Kuja. Main reason he's my top villain though; he destroys not one, but two planets. Count 'em. Thats two; thats twice as many as Sephiroth the fanboy favourite. Plus, Ultima is so pretty... And he's a dramatic fool who talks funny which just makes me love him so.

Any FF fan will love at least one Cid. Whats not to love generally? They're normally rather funny, give some quips, some advice, the odd airship. They're useful, creative and downright hilarious at times. Personal favourite would be Cid Highwind (FF7) for another immortal line "Sit your ass down in that chair and drink your goddamn tea!!". So yeah. Awesome.

I know this is a weird thing to say, but I really just want to give this guy a big hug. Just to shut him up and maybe make him smile more like when he's with Marlene. Not only did he have an absolutely heartbreaking backstory but he is a bit insane. I mean the gun arm is enough to make that obvious. But what I love is that he is desperate to save the planet which he is sure is dying; quite by chance perhaps he is completely and utterly right and I like to hope that there is some Barret's out in the world hoping to do the same for our planet. Plus. He's a great dad. I love him for that so much.

Ok so you could see the plot twist from a mile off. But that aside this dude rocked this game. Rocked it good. He wore sunglasses, he drinks before pummelling a beastie, comes out with some tremendous one liners and basically is a badass. I would also have loved to have seen a prequel of his journey with Braska and Jecht, ok so it would end on a downer but come on!! It would be a tremendously huge amount better than FFX-2. I mean really, Auron brought much to this game, but my favourite bit would be the big sword which he would kill things with. It makes me happy.

Not many people can do what Garnet can, like summon Eidolons, I mean thats pretty impressive. But more impressive is the orang jumpsuit. And the pretty hair. Also she develops more obviously than most of the other lead females, you can tell how much she has changed by the end of the game and she's fabulous for it (especially with the fantastic haircut). Plus she names herself Dagger part of the way through the game, solidifying a weapon as an awesome alias. She did a favour for cool, and orange.

This guy gets a few awards, best lead, best womanizer (he gets the girl) and best theif (sorry Locke). But just best in general. If it weren't for my no. 1 he would be there. He's light hearted, generally fun to play with and has some of the best attacks in the game making him not only invaluable but great company. He may not be as strong as his counterparts (the weather formation and the bird) but he's got the pizazz and personality which the weather formation and the bird could only dream of (and I'm sure they do...)

And the Queen of FF in my mind is (and always will be) Tifa. Just because she's so completely kickass without the need for elaborate swords or impressive magic. Plus she looks fantastic in a mini skirt. Heck anything. Ok I'm shallow. But she's also one of the sweetest characters without being saccharine, she is in love with a dope (who isnt?) and she is just good through and through. She's everything I want to be and everything girl characters in games aspire to be. But better. Because she's Tifa.

There was never any doubt this guy would be number 1 in my mind, he's topped all the popular character polls and he stole my heart at the fragile age of 11. I'll never forget his story and I would be ashamed if anyone did. To be fair, it's hard not to love Vivi, even the hardest of gamers could feel their eyes misting up as he asked those questions we all ask at one point, but with added poignancy of lack of understanding, the child's eyes looking at these problems. It was unbearable. Plus. He's adorable.
