I believe there's a saying that goes..."you snooze, you lose"?

Right. That does it.

Snoozing is it? Phoenix will respond to that by forgetting his manners, and manifesting directly behind Ryan to grab a handful of soft blond hair. There might be a sharp tug involved.

"Puppy got out again, did he?"

Puppy here is obviously very unhappy with this sudden turn of events. Not. But he'll put on a show, whimpering and pouting, the whole nine yards.

"You weren't paying enough attention to me. Leggo."

Bwahaha?

"Such high maintenance." Phoenix is all but snarling now, in a bad mood because he's had a couple of whippings today for things that haven't been his fault.

Mostly not his fault.

"You'll have your attention, right now." He'll only let go of Drake makes him do so.

And Drake is going to do no such thing.

"Someone tell me why I should not punish you both."

Precisely whatever it is that's Ryan's fault, is unknown even to Phoenix. It's just the first thing that usually comes out of his mouth whenever punishments are mentioned.

"Ah, my Phoenix - I see you are volunteering to go first."

Drake stalks up to him and clutches at his shoulder, before frowning.

"Though I see that someone has been playing with my toys."

"!" The indignant demon is speechless at this, and he'll take it out by tugging on Ryan's hair again.

"There was an incident, master. Princess Erin's perfume got smashed, that bloody monkey again." So he was doing something nasty to the poor creature and frightened it. But technically the smashing of glass was not Phoenix's fault.

"She had me flogged. It was so unfair."

"Hmm...I missed a flogging. I do love a good flogging."

Drake sits down dramatically on his chair and smiles.

"No matter. We can have another."

And, being the picture of an obnoxious smug little brat, Ryan will take a seat as well. The fact that it happens to be Drake's lap is just rubbing it in a little, Phoenix. "Serves you right. Poor monkey."

Of course, logic dictates the Ryan can't go back to their highnesses with a single mark on him.

Phoenix hates logic.

"Don't call me that!" He all but whines. "Master... make him show a little respect?"

Drake parts his legs and sends Ryan crashing to the floor.

"Shirt off, puppy."

And he lands on the ground with an "oof!" glancing up with a fierce sort of pout for a moment, before obediently pulling his shirt off. There's a defiance in his body language thought, as he stays sprawled on the ground.
